After a very long autumn/winter, the first open competition of 2024 took place at Builth Wells with the Seniors Team Open. The format was a team of four, 2 scores to count on holes 1-6, 3 scores on holes 7-12 and all 4 scores on holes 13-18 with 85% handicap allowance.
The golf course was in excellent condition given the extremely wet weather over recent months; it was pleasing to hear visiting players praising the condition of the course such as:
“This has been the first game of golf this year that I have enjoyed as the course is dry and the greens are excellent”
“As a past greens chairman I would like to commend the green staff on the condition of the course, it was a joy to be out there today, the greens were first class”
