Teeing grounds:
During the Autumn of last year (2011) a number of teeing grounds were improved. The process involved removing the turf from the tees then levelling the soil, compacting and eventually re laying the turf.
The teeing grounds improved were:
2nd; 3rd; 7th; 8th; 12th; 13th; 17th & 18th.
The new improved teeing grounds will be back in play early March time 2012.
Greens:
The greens were "slot seeded" in August 2011. This process was carried out by High ground Maintenance and involved a machine with small discs cutting into the green and slotting seeds into the soil underneath the surface of the green.
The results have been astounding, the greens have a very even consistent grass coverage and have become some of the finest putting surfaces in Wales.
This year will see the greens at Builth Wells Golf Club having quick, true surfaces that are receptive to a good golf shot.
All in all an exciting year lies ahead!
