Club Championship

The 2017 men's Club Championship was played on Saturday 24th June over 36 holes. Tim Iveson added the Club Championship to his recent Brecon & Radnor County Championship with scores of 67 & 70 to beat Gareth Jones by 4 shots. The net competition was won by Josh Price with consistent scores of 65 & 65 off his 21 handicap. Josh was 3 shots clear of Gareth Pearson (2nd), Tom Price (3rd) & Aaron Evans (4th).

Men's Open - Sayce Cup

The 2017 Men's Open playing for the Sayce Cup was played on Sunday 14th May. The open was very kindly sponsored by Builth Wells Garages Limited, with Director Martyn Evans presenting the prizes at the presentation. This year's winner was Sam Williams (Builth Wells) with a score of 74 - 8 = 66 winning by 1 shot from Jamie Evans (Builth Wells), 90 - 23 = 67. Results as follows:

Lombard Pro Am Qualifier

Carl Lloyd won the right to partner Club Professional Simon Edwards in the Lombard Pro Am Regional Final at Burnham & Berrow Golf Club on Thursday 22nd June, when winning the club qualifier on Sunday 7th May. Carl scored a fine 77 - 14 = 63, winning by 2 shots from Josh Price. Full results as follows:

The Grainger Cup, kindly sponsored by Malcolm Grainger (Past Captain) and current golf club Steward, took place on Monday 1st May 2017. A large field of members took part with only 4 shots covering the top 9 players. The format was full handicap stableford. Results as follows:

52 players took part in the 2017 Easter Medal competition on Monday 17th April. The winner with a fine score of net 62 was junior member Aaron Evans, closely followed by John Cox net 63 & another junior member in Tom Offa with a net 64.

46 players took part in the Golf Union of Wales Handicap Team Qualifier on Sunday 9th April. The top 4 individual scores would be submitted whereby the 4 players may well go on to represent Brecon & Radnor County Golf Union in the Finals at Celtic Manor later on in 2017.

2017 Club Captain's, Enid Evans & Tom Davies drove into office on Sunday 2nd April on a beautiful spring day. A large crowd of both members & guests saw both Enid & Tom start their year with nice drives up the 1st fairway. A shotgun competition took place following the drive in, results as follows:

Winter League 2016

Ian Price was crowned the 2016 Men's Winter League champion on Sunday 19th March. The overall winter league was a very tight affair with the top 10 players separated by just 19.5 points. Highlight of the final winter league fixture was Jack Hammond's maiden hole in one on the 17th hole!
