Open Weekend - 4 B/B/B Pairs

Day 2 of the 2016 Open Weekend saw the playing of the Jim Downs Cup (Men) & Manchester Trophy (Ladies). 101 pairs took part representing 37 different golf clubs from across the UK. Winning the Jim Downs Cup with an unbelievable score of 48 stableford points was home club pair Rhys Davies (19) & Tom Samuel (7); winning the ladies Manchester Trophy with 42 points was Pam Etchingham (18) & Mary Hawkes (11) representing Lutterworth Golf Club, Leicestershire. GUW Welsh Junior Tour 2016

Builth Wells junior members Jacob Evans, Thomas Edwards, Harry Edwards, Reuben Baker & Zak Baker took part in round 2 of the Welsh Junior Tour on Sunday 3rd July at Carmarthen Golf Club. All 5 of them did themselves and our golf club proud. Zak was the winner of the under 12 boys, Thomas was 3rd in the under 10 boys, Harry was the winner of the under 8 boys and Reuben was runner up in the under 8 boys. Fantastic achievement, well done to you all. The next Welsh Junior Tour Event will be held at Lakeside Golf Club (Garthmyl) on Thursday 4th August.

British Wee Wonders Championship 2016

Congratulations to Builth Wells junior members Ellie Probert, Zac Baker, Thomas Edwards, Harry Edwards and Reuben Baker who all qualified for the Welsh Final of the 2016 British Wee Wonders Championship at a very wet and miserable Aberdovey Golf Club on Sunday 19th June.

The Welsh Final will be held at Rhondda Golf Club on Saturday 16th July where the top 3 players in each age category will qualify for the British Final to be held at 'The Home of Golf', St Andrews Golf Club (Scotland) at the end of August.

Good luck to you all and well played at Aberdovey where the weather conditions were dreadful.
